In any church we need to find ways to find ways to get to know people better so that
mutual support is possible.
Housegroups are one of the most important ways of deepening relationships and providing a place for mutual care and encouragement.
A housegroup usually has 10 - 15 people, who meet together once a week in someone's home for Bible study, discussion and prayer. Every group is different, but the aim is always to encourage and support one another, to develop fellowship within the church and to deepen in our knowledge and love of God.
Typically a group will start at 8pm with a Bible study lasting about an hour. This will then be followed by a time of prayer (for each other, the work of the church and world issues). Finally there will be coffee and biscuits and a chance to catch up with each other. Sometimes the programme might include a meal or a visiting speaker or a get-together with another housegroup. In order to get to know the whole family some groups arrange weekend houseparties with Bible teaching, bring and share lunches and special outings eg bowling. Some groups meet out of term-time. All groups have their own particular flavour.
Groups meet in Cambridge, Waterbeach, Teversham, Cherry Hinton, Trumpington and Comberton. One group meets at Eden on alternate Thursday mornings at 10.45am.
Please contact Ruth Tricker via the if you would like to be in a group.
