A selection of limericks by Eden members in honour of Tom Chapman, on the occasion of his departure for Norwich:
There once was a young man called Tom
Whose sermons just went down a bomb
Dressed in red boots
He had us in hoots
But he handled the text with aplomb
Chris Akhurst
From Snettisham mud there grew
A man of great intellect who
Swapping marshland for fen
Studied fossils and then
Lit up Eden with dance and sound teaching too.
Angela Taylor
There once was a lad from Snettisham
Whose talent was said to be making jam
He learnt some geology
And mixed it with theology
Hey Presto! It made him a preacher man
He was never a rebel at school
But intent on playing the fool
He made an impression
During Suzanne's flute lesson
His tank tops and flares were - well cool!
Then God decided to lead him
To be assistant pastor at Eden
His talks were fantastic
With rackets and elastic
We'll be terribly sorry to lose him.
