At the recent church meeting Julian presented his vision for the year ahead. He felt that this is a new start for the church and a time to look to the future. Although the staff team and eldership are small we are united as a church and there is a sense of expectancy for the future. He sees this as a year of perseverance, planning and prayer, rather than of new initiatives. He asked the church to pray specifically about the development of the staff team and the appointment of a new assistant pastor, and about the youth work in the church. He encouraged perseverance and development in the many ministries are involved in.
Also at the church meeting Hazel Church was appointed as administrator and Julian, Pat Blake and John Field were appointed as delegates to the Grace Baptist Mission annual meetings. Julian reported on the Brighton Church planting project which is to be set up by Orlando Saer. Orlando plans to gather together a core group and plant in the northern and suburban areas of Brighton. Eden has been asked to join a consortium of churches supporting the project financially and in prayer and all voted in favour of this.
