• How does someone come to faith in Christ?
• Redemption: Accomplished and Applied

1. God Effectually Calls us by Grace

Rom 8:30, 1 Cor 1:23-24

• Not external call (Matt 22:14) but internal (Rom 1:6-7)
• A divine summons (Acts 16:14, John 6:37, 44, 64-65)
  ➔ The outcome includes...
  • Fellowship with Jesus (1 Cor 1:9)
  • From darkness into light (1 Pet 2:9)
  • Membership of God's kingdom (1 Thess 2:12)
  • Freedom (Gal 5:13)

2. God Regenerates us by Grace

Ezek 36:25-26, John 3, 1 John

• New birth (John 1:13, 3:5-8, 1 John 2:29 etc)
• New creation (2 Cor 5:17, Gal 6:15, Eph 2:10)
  
  ➔ Both done by God to us
  ➔ Our wills are changed, not violated

3. We must then Respond by Grace

Mark 1:15, Eph 2:8-9, Phil 1:29, 2 Tim 2:24-25

• The Gift of Faith
• The Gift of Repentance
